Your Support Helps the Garden Grow

The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park is an all-volunteer organization, and we rely on your generous donations, event revenue, membership fees, and gift shop sales for the funds needed to keep the garden growing. Public gardens have a powerful and positive impact on the health, environment and economy of a region. They make it a better place to live. Our mission is to design, build, and manage a year-round botanic garden in Northwest Michigan for the purposes of botanical and environmental preservation, education and research, and the enjoyment and renewal of citizens and visitors. We couldn't do this without your support. Thank you for helping the garden grow!

Education is an important part of our mission at The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park.

We offer a wide variety of scheduled programs – speakers, presentations, demonstrations, hands-on workshops, “make it and take it” classes, and virtual events via Zoom. The Garden is steadily increasing the number and variety of events, including programs for children. These in-person and virtual programs are offered throughout the year.

This garden is a carefully planned place for learning. Our goal is for visitors to take away new knowledge, perspectives, or creative ideas to incorporate into their own lives. Proceeds from events provide a critical source of revenue for The Botanic Garden. This allows us to attract high-caliber presenters. Members of The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park receive free or reduced pricing on events, plus exclusive invitations to member-only lectures with experts from around the world.

If you are attending a free event and would like to make a voluntary donation to The Botanic Garden, you can donate online through Eventbrite when you register for the event, or simply bring your donation with you to the event.

Our event calendar is updated regularly, so please check back often!
