Our trained docents lead garden tours that share the transformative story of this historic property. Group tours usually last one hour and include a brief walk (or transit cart support for persons with mobility limitations), interesting information about the garden and its history, and time for browsing in our Visitor Center.
Tour requests must be scheduled in advance using our online tour request form (below).
Tours are offered twice daily:
Tuesday – Saturday at 11am and 12:45pm
There is no charge for garden tours, but we ask groups to remember that memberships, donations, and Visitor Center gift shop sales help support The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park. The Garden receives no public funding.
You can support The Botanic Garden online by purchasing a membership or donating online. Click here to learn more.
**Please note these safety precautions:
Protective face coverings are required for all guests three years of age or older, in accordance with the state of Michigan’s public health guidelines.
People who are not part of the same household must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from others throughout the tour.
Visitors who are unable to follow these safety precautions will not be able to participate in a tour at this time, but will be welcomed back for a tour following the pandemic.
Tour requests will be denied if these criteria are not met.**
You will receive a confirmation email for your tour. Please note that our administrative operations are staffed by volunteers. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of your request, please call the Visitor Center at (231) 935-4077.
